Meet our horses

The horses at TRC are a very special collection of equines. Many spent their younger years as performance horses in a variety of disciplines, from jumping to barrel racing, dressage to trail, even a parade horse. They have come from all over the country for their new "jobs." Today they are proud and happy to serve as companions and partners for the riders at the Therapeutic Riding Center.

The cost of boarding, feeding and caring for our horses averages approximately $1,100 per month, per horse. This amount does not include any unscheduled or emergency veterinarian visits or medical care. Our program cannot function without our horses. If you would like to fully or partially sponsor one (or more) of our horses, please view their profiles and donate today!

Our volunteers are supported and guided by PATH‑certified instructors and receive practical orientation on how to work safely and respectfully with our riders. They learn about communication preferences, sensory awareness, and how to create a calm, encouraging environment for individuals with disabilities. TRC is blessed with dedicated volunteers of all ages who serve in essential roles—from grooming horses and cleaning tack to assisting lessons as side‑walkers and horse leaders. No matter the task, our volunteers consistently offer the patience, compassion, and steady support that help our riders and horses thrive.
